Lectio divina is meditative reading of sacred scripture, with heart and mind devoted to hearing what God is saying to us here and now. It is reading which doesn't have any other purpose than to spend time with God.  As the reader takes time for prayer, the scripture reading becomes a conversation with God.

´╗┐´╗┐Lectio divina is an ancient gift to the entire Church, and has always been highly valued by monks, forming an important part of Benedictine tradition and spirituality.
