PAST EVENTS

 

ACTS Hong Kong offers events for young Catholics to explore the faith in an atmosphere of acceptance and open hospitality.   

 

Fr Chad Boulton OSB is the Spiritual Director of ACTS Hong Kong, and Senior Chaplain of Ampleforth College. He first visited Hong Kong in March 2013, and conducted a series of retreats for young people and parents in collaboration with HK DEY (HK Diocesan English Youth is a subcomittee of the HK Diocesan Youth Commission).   Fr Chad was in Hong Kong again for our Lenten events in March 2015.  Below are some photos of these events.

Thursday, 26 March 2015  – 6:00 to 8:00pm

Rosary Church | 125 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

 

Young people learnt to focus on what is important in the busy lives with distractions.   Fr Chad led a reflection, discussion, activity, and prayer; followed by the popular "Priests' Question Time" for the teenagers to ask any question they like to a panel of priests.

This evening with Fr Chad was an opportunity to discover the meaning of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and awaken your wonder for this ancient and deeply nourishing tradition.

Lent Retreat for Diocesan English Youth 2015

Operation Dawn | Town Island  &  St. Joseph’s Church Yim Tin Tsai, Sai Kung

 

Our Lent Retreat for teenagers took them to Operation Dawn, for a chance to visit former drug addicts, and then to Yim Tin Tsai for activities and Mass at St. Josephs's Church, the Unesco Heritage site.  Fr. Chad led a reflection, small group discussions and prayer on the topic of forgiveness and new beginnings.

Lent Retreat for Adults 2015

With a focus on the challenges of teaching Benedictine Spirituality to teenagers, and how St. Benedict inspires Ampleforth's approach, Fr Chad explained how to listen with 'the ear of your heart', gave an introduction to Lectio Divina, the Divine Office and Gregorian chant at Ampleforth Abbey.
